Nursing home care for veterans from the VA: Veteran affair department provides nursing home care to the veterans that are unable to walk or move. There are three different programs of VA that provide such care for veterans. The program includes VA community centers, State veteran homes, and community nursing home program for veterans.
These programs have different eligibility requirements as they are different from each other. Nursing home care is provided to veterans who have 70 percent service-connected disability or more. VA also provides nursing home care but that depends on the case and situation of a veteran.
VA community centers for veterans (Nursing home care For Veterans)
Veteran affair department has designed a community living center for the disabled veterans. This center resembles the home as much as possible. Different rooms are given to veterans that they can decorate for themselves. These rooms have all the facilities that are available at the home.
Furthermore, there are activities for the veterans who are of different ages. These community centers for veterans are mostly located near the veteran affairs hospital.
These are present in different states of the country so one can get to their near community center for assistance and care. Veterans can stay in community centers for short period of time. Some veterans have to stay in the community centers for the rest of their life.
The center provides all the necessary care and assistance to the veterans. Veterans can also get their treatment from these centers. Nursing care is available 24/7.

Services at the community centers
There are many services that are provided at the community centers that are very important for the disabled veterans. These services are important as some veterans have to stay in the centers for the rest of their lives. Following are some of the main services that are provided in any of the community center of state:
- Nursing care available for 24 hours that provide all the medicines to the veteran on time
- Social work services and different activities
- Proper recovery care for physical and mental health
- Special care for veterans who have dementia
- Hospice care
Nursing home program for veterans

State veterans nursing home can be for shorter time period or for longer period known as va long term care. There are a certain criteria for the nursing home care such as the percentage of disability, financial status, etc.
The veterans that will meet the eligibility criteria will be provided with all the nursing home care and facilities and department will pay for these. If the veteran has a dishonorable discharge from the military, then they cannot apply for nursing home program. Veterans with service-connected disability of 70 percent or greater can apply for the mentioned care from the veteran affairs department.

List of State Veterans Nursing Homes
Veterans Nursing Homes are generally available for old veterans, but some states have a family for people who have served national reserves, national guards and warriors. The majority of these houses offer nursing care, but some can provide care or continuous care. In general, there is no income test or asset. Most veterans are eligible in most countries. Many countries give up weekly waiting lists to the famous family.
Each facility has different standards and there is a request. You can’t just walk inside and arrange immediately to take care of the nurse. You must contact the veterans of the house that you are interested in finding the family availability and the application process. There are other veteran benefits that make money available, probably a better solution for your care needs.
